Mobs of rioters attacked truck drivers and families in Charlotte, North Carolina before looting Walmart after a black cop shot dead a black man who police say was armed.
Officers were serving a warrant against another individual when Keith Lamont Scott exited his vehicle with a gun and was shot dead by police, who said he posed an imminent threat. The officer who killed Scott, Brentley Vinson, is an African-American.
Scott exited the vehicle “armed with a firearm and posed an imminent deadly threat to the officers who subsequently fired their weapon striking the subject,” according to a statement from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
‘Black Lives Matter’ supporters insisted that Scott was “disabled” and that he was only carrying a book.
